Out of all the Cockapoos, Miniature Cockapoo is perhaps the most sought after. Let’s find out why!

What is a Miniature Cockapoo?

A miniature Cockapoo is a result of the cross between the Cocker Spaniel and the Miniature Poodle. As evident, their small size comes from the miniature Poodle parent.

It is an intelligent breed and is easy to train. They quickly pick up new things and like to show off through their cute antics. Also, Miniature cockapoos shed very little like their Poodle parent.

What’s more, is that they are a non-aggressive and amiable breed. Mini Cockapoos love to snuggle and absorb all your stress and anxiety, just like their Cocker Spaniel parent.

What Is The Size of Miniature Cockapoo?

The size of the Cockapoo makes it perfect for apartment dwellers or for people not having much space.

Do They Experience Growth Spurts?

Mainly all Cockapoos stop growing at the end of the first 12 months. Yet, some may experience growth spurts, and a miniature Cockapoo is one of them.

There would be a time when your furry friend will start growing so noticeably that you may wonder, “What’s happening to my mini-Cockapoo?”

The growth spurt usually starts during the age of 4-6 months, and at that time, your mini-Cockapoo would grow exponentially. By the end of 12 months, it would become an adult.

During this stage of life, your mini-Cockapoo will also shed significantly more. During the transition from puppy to adulthood, your furry friend will tend to shed all its puppy coat. The new adult coat will be more durable and shed less.

Do Miniature Cockapoos Suffer From Separation Anxiety?

Are you thinking of leaving your dog alone for a whole day? Let us tell you that it isn’t a good idea. Like many other breeds, miniature Cockapoo also suffers from separation anxiety.

Cockapoos can exhibit destructive tendencies like:

  • Destroying, chewing furniture
  • Scratching doors.
  • Urinating, defacing
  • Running away

But, as clingy as they seem, miniature Cockapoos can do well alone for a few hours but not for a longer time.

Miniature Cockapoos And Training

Cockapoos take after their Poodle parent when it comes to training and exercise. They are a smart breed who don’t give you much trouble during training. Thus, it also makes them a suitable breed for new owners.

As far as exercise is involved, a daily 30-minutes walk or playtime would suffice. Remember not to overdo any exercise or training. It can be harmful to their small limbs and joints.
